FSANZ allergen disclosure · Standard 1.2.3

Allergen truth.

Filter our menu by allergen, see what each meal contains, and read what we can — and cannot — guarantee about cross-contamination in a shared kitchen.

⊹ READ THIS FIRST

Cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed.

Preptide meals are prepared in a shared commercial kitchen that handles all major Australian-declared allergens. Despite documented allergen control processes — including ingredient segregation, colour-coded utensils, scheduled cleaning, and trained staff — we cannot guarantee any meal is free from cross-contact.

If you have severe allergies, anaphylaxis history, coeliac disease, or any condition where trace exposure could harm you, please review every meal's full ingredient list, talk to your doctor or accredited dietitian, and consider whether Preptide is appropriate for you. Our customer care team can answer detailed questions: allergens@preptide.com.au.

Compliant with Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code 1.2.3 (Information requirements — warning statements, advisory statements and declarations) and Plain English Allergen Labelling (PEAL) requirements effective 25 February 2024.

How to read this page

CONTAINS

Intentional ingredient. The meal is made with this allergen on purpose. If you can't have this allergen, do not order this meal.

MAY CONTAIN

Cross-contact possible. The allergen isn't in the recipe, but the kitchen handles it. Trace exposure is possible. Severe allergy = avoid.

FREE FROM

No declared trace. Allergen is not an ingredient and our kitchen processes don't typically expose it. Still no absolute guarantee — see the warning above.

Allergen FAQ
Can I order Preptide if I have coeliac disease?

Coeliac patients should treat all our meals as may contain gluten. Even meals without gluten as an intentional ingredient are prepared in a kitchen handling wheat and gluten-containing products. We strongly recommend coeliac customers consult their gastroenterologist or accredited practising dietitian before ordering and consider that Preptide may not be safe for sustained use.

How do you handle anaphylactic allergies?

We can't guarantee a trace-free meal in a shared kitchen. Customers with anaphylactic risk should consult their immunologist before ordering. Our kitchen follows allergen control protocols including segregation, colour-coding, and dedicated cleaning, but trace exposure remains possible.

What if I have a less common allergy not on this list?

Email allergens@preptide.com.au with the specific ingredient. Our chefs can review individual meal recipes against your allergen and tell you which (if any) are safe to consider. We're more conservative than you may need — that's deliberate.

Why isn't there a "completely safe" badge?

Because legally and ethically we can't issue one in a shared-kitchen environment. Other meal services that do issue "allergen-free" badges either (a) operate dedicated allergen-free production lines (we don't), or (b) are taking a regulatory risk we won't take. Our position is conservative honesty.

What about pregnancy-related food safety (listeria, mercury)?

Pregnant customers should review per-meal ingredient lists. Meals containing soft cheeses, raw-cured meats, or certain fish (we currently use cooked salmon and white fish, no raw products) should be discussed with your obstetrician. Always consult your healthcare provider during pregnancy.
