GLP-1 meals, built for the medication era.

Preptide is Australia's GLP-1-specific meal service — high-protein, high-fibre, portion-aligned ready meals delivered weekly across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with phase-specific menus for people on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Saxenda or post-bariatric.

A GLP-1 medication changes the single most important variable in your diet: how much you want to eat. When appetite drops sharply, the goal is no longer "eat less" — it's making the smaller amount you do eat work harder. Every plate has to carry more protein, more fibre and more nutrition per bite. That is the problem Preptide is built to solve.

Why GLP-1 meals are different from normal meal delivery

Mainstream meal delivery is designed around a normal appetite and a full-size plate. On a GLP-1, that model quietly works against you. Drugs like semaglutide and tirzepatide slow gastric emptying and blunt hunger signals, so you fill up fast and stay full for hours. A standard 700-calorie tray that is half carbohydrate suddenly feels like too much food — and the part you finish is rarely the part with the protein.

Preptide flips the priority. Because appetite is smaller, every bite has to be nutrient-dense and protein-first. We start each meal with a lean, complete protein source, build volume from vegetables and fibre, and keep fat moderate so the meal is easier to tolerate. The result is a smaller serving that still hits a meaningful protein target — instead of a large serving you can't finish.

The short version: normal meal delivery optimises for a big, satisfying plate. Preptide optimises for protein and fibre per bite, because on a GLP-1 the number of bites is the thing that shrinks.

The muscle-loss problem nobody warns you about

Here is the part of GLP-1 weight loss that often goes unmentioned at the prescription stage. Research has found that up to 40% of the weight lost on GLP-1 medications can be lean muscle mass when protein intake is insufficient. Losing weight is the goal; losing that much muscle is not. Lean mass is what keeps your metabolism up, your strength intact and your body composition healthy — and it is far easier to protect than to rebuild.

The defence is simple in principle and hard in practice: eat enough protein, every day, even when you barely feel like eating. That is exactly when adequate protein is most difficult, because appetite is at its lowest. Preptide builds every plate around protein, with a working target of 1.2-1.6 g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day — the range commonly recommended to help preserve lean muscle during meaningful weight loss.

How much protein do you need on a GLP-1?

A reasonable floor for most adults losing weight on a GLP-1 is at least 60 g of protein per day, with many people doing better toward the higher 1.2-1.6 g/kg range. Spread that across the day rather than chasing it in one sitting: aiming for 20-40 g of protein per meal makes the daily total achievable and gives your muscles a steady supply of amino acids.

The catch is reduced appetite. When you can only manage a small plate, getting 30 g of protein into it requires deliberate design — a generous portion of lean meat, fish or a plant-protein base, not a side of it. That is the entire reason Preptide leads with protein and trims the filler. Every meal is engineered so the smaller serving still lands in the per-meal protein range your muscles need.

The three Preptide phases

Your nutrition needs change depending on where you are in your journey. Appetite, tolerance and calorie needs all shift as you start, settle on, or step away from a medication. Preptide organises the menu into three phases so the food matches the moment.

Meals for Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro

Ozempic and Wegovy (semaglutide), Saxenda (liraglutide) and Mounjaro (tirzepatide) all work in a similar way at the dinner table: they slow gastric emptying and reduce appetite, so food sits longer and you feel full sooner. Mounjaro adds GIP activity on top of GLP-1, but the practical eating advice is the same. Preptide menus suit every GLP-1 and tirzepatide.

Because the stomach empties slowly, what you eat strongly affects how you feel. Easier-to-tolerate choices tend to be lean protein, cooked vegetables and lower-fat meals — exactly how Preptide is formulated. What commonly makes nausea worse are fatty, fried, ultra-processed and high-sugar foods, which sit heavily and linger. Building your plates around the first list and away from the second is one of the simplest ways to make the medication more comfortable.

Frequently asked questions

GLP-1 meals, answered

Are Preptide meals suitable for Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro?

Yes. Our menus are designed for people taking any GLP-1 receptor agonist — including semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy), liraglutide (Saxenda) — and the GLP-1/GIP medication tirzepatide (Mounjaro). Meals are protein-forward, lower in fat and portion-aligned for a reduced appetite. Preptide is food, not medication, and never replaces your prescription.

How much protein is in each meal?

It depends on the phase. ON-medication meals carry 27 g or more of protein in 166-550 calories. Transitioning meals carry 35-49 g in 350-460 calories. Maintenance meals carry 42-50 g in 480-600 calories. Most people aim for 20-40 g of protein per meal and at least 60 g per day.

Do I need a prescription?

No. Preptide is a food service, not a pharmacy. You don't need a prescription, and we don't supply or prescribe any medication. Many customers are on a GLP-1 prescribed by their own doctor; others are tapering off or simply eating this way for general health.

Can I use this after bariatric surgery?

Many post-bariatric customers find the smaller portions and high protein density of our ON-phase meals helpful. Because surgical recovery has staged texture and volume requirements, please review the plan with your bariatric surgeon or accredited dietitian before ordering.

Is it fresh or frozen?

Fresh, never frozen. Meals are cooked and chilled, then delivered weekly so they arrive ready to refrigerate and reheat. This keeps texture and flavour closer to home cooking — which matters when appetite and tolerance are reduced.

How is this different from Youfoodz or normal meal delivery?

Mainstream services are built for a normal appetite and a full-size plate. Preptide is built for a suppressed appetite, so every meal is engineered for protein density, fibre and tolerability in a smaller serving — and the menu is organised into phases that match where you are on or off your medication.

Can I pause or skip?

Yes. Skip a week, pause your subscription or change phase any time before your weekly cut-off. No lock-in contracts, and delivery is free on active subscriptions.

What areas do you deliver to?

We currently deliver fresh weekly across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane metro areas. Enter your postcode at checkout to confirm your suburb is in our delivery zone.
